Dominika TIHANYI–Gábor LENDVAI Hungarian Landscape Architects at ASLA 2009 Professional Awards - Interactive Mapping Project
(Summary)
The American Society of Landscape
Architects has awarded
49 landscape projects this year.
Receiving Honor Award in communication
category -as the only
Hungarian project- is the Interactive
Mapping Project, the work of
two young Hungarian landscape
architects: Lendvai Gábor and
Tihanyi Dominika. The game has
been realized in the cities of Budapest,
Győr and Szeged.
The Interactive Mapping Project
is an experiment. With the help
of the game people are invited
to take part in a playful experience
concerning their city, and
their actual surroundings: to become
an active part of creating
a cheerful atmoshere within the
busy city where people open up
to each other.
On the large surface of the orthophoto
people are able to
mark their homes, most liked
places and places to be altered
or developed, with the help of
stickers. The information gathered
can be useful for the city
leaders, as in this sense the Interactive
Mapping Project can be
interpreted as alternative form of
public research work. |
