(Summary)

The 3300 m2 garden, which is situated in a hilly, protected landscape, gently slopes down creating some 20 m difference in level, between the top of the garden and the street level. The two main design requirements from the family were: to maintain the panorama towards the south and – despite of the size of the plot – to create an easily manageable family garden.

The owners had a modern house built on site, incorporating plenty of natural, organic building materials; with a wonderful view over the surrounding hills. Complementing the look and characteristics of the neighboring landscape, our design, the new garden, contains many elements of a parkland and divided into several parts. The farthest part of the garden is not used by the family; and in spite of having automatic irrigation, it is planted up mainly with draught tolerant plants.
